Thickness of heavy duty shelf board

Many people think that the thicker the sheets used to make heavy-duty shelves, the better, so that they can carry heavier goods, but this is not the case. So how thick is the plate for making heavy shelves?

In some cases, the thicker the material, the better its load-bearing capacity, but this is not a universal truth. For heavy shelf products, the selected steels are all non-grade steels, and different types of steels are suitable for manufacturing shelves with different requirements. This is not to say that the thicker the material on all warehouse shelves, the better.

Generally, Q235 steel is used for customized heavy-duty shelves, but in fact, there are many steel models that can be selected on the shelves, such as Q345, Q195, etc. However, if you compare Q235 with Q195, the actual thickness of the former is 1.5 mm can reach the effect of 2.0 mm of the latter, so it seems that Q235 has better toughness and stress.

The operation of heavy-duty racks involves many practical issues. Such as the load-bearing requirements of heavy-duty racks, the overall and partial structure of the racks, how to design and calculate the storage space, and the influence of the ground on the installation and commissioning of the racks. These factors will directly affect the choice of steel for shelf manufacturing. Inappropriate choices will not only increase their procurement costs, but also lead to changes in the production of shelf suppliers. Therefore, don’t think that the thicker the plates used to make heavy-duty shelves, the better, the shelf manufacturers will choose the plates reasonably according to your needs.
