The purpose of purchasing storage racks is to use the existing warehouse space to increase more storage capacity, save more storage costs, make the warehouse more tidy and beautiful, and complete the work more efficiently. So how should the size of storage shelves be designed to suit their warehouse?
Let’s take the heavy-duty rack to design its size. First of all, the parameters we need to know are: the size of the pallet (width, depth and height), the height of the goods + the pallet, the weight of a board of goods, the height of the warehouse, we understand these parameters In order to design the appropriate size of the shelf. Each layer of heavy-duty racks is usually designed to place two pallets, so we need to pay attention to whether there is a big belly when the goods are stored. If there is, a larger gap should be reserved, otherwise it will be very difficult when the forklift forks the goods. It’s hard to put it on. There are also many kinds of pallet specifications. What needs to be paid attention to is the direction of the pallet into the fork, because the direction of the pallet determines the width of the shelf, and the other side of the direction of the pallet determines the depth of the shelf. Let’s take an example calculation, it should be easier for everyone to understand.
We look at the pallet with a size of 1200mm*1000mm, of which 1200mm is the direction of the fork. The height of the cargo + pallet is 1100mm, the cargo load of a pallet is 1T, the cargo is not generous, each floor has two cargo spaces, and the warehouse height is 6 meters.
Then we calculate the width of the shelf, which is the size of the two pallets in the direction of the fork plus the appropriate distance between the pallets and the gap between the pallets and the columns on both sides. The distance between the pallets and between the pallets and the column is usually 100mm, which can be calculated as 1200mm*2 pallets+300mm (clearance)=2700mm.
There are two situations to determine the size of the shelf depth. One is that when the bottom of the pallet is 9 corners, the pallet needs to be carried by a layer. In this case, it should be determined according to the depth of the pallet, which is 1000mm; if it is a Sichuan character The type of pallet can be directly carried by beams without the layer board, but in the design, we usually reduce 100 on both sides of the shelf, that is, 1000mm-200mm=800mm, which is to facilitate the better placement of the goods and the shelf.
Calculating the height of the shelf, the height of the column = the height of the goods plus the height of the beam + the safety distance between the goods and the beam (usually 100) plus the safety distance for the topmost goods (usually set to 500mm), The obtained height is 1100mm*4 layer cargo height+120mm*4 beam size+100mm*4 layer (gap)+500mm (top height)=5780mm, the hole distance of the heavy-duty shelf column is 50mm, so the column height is 5800H. The total height of the warehouse is 6 meters, so the designed shelf height does not exceed the height of the warehouse, and also makes full use of the space in the warehouse, but this height needs to consider the lifting height of the forklift to reach 5900mm.
